Prayers

Adult & All Age

Call to worship

Are you ready?
It’s time to go.
It’s time to go with God.
We’re going on a journey.
We’re going on a journey with God.
Let’s go together.
Let’s go together with God today.

A gathering prayer

God who created the world,
we gather here from many places,
be with us here.
God who saves us,
we bring our fears and our questions,
guide us and protect us.
Uniting God, we come as pilgrims to journey together.
Let us know you here as we journey with you.
Amen.

A prayer of approach

God of our journey of faith:
Wherever you send us, we will go.
Wherever you lead us, we will follow.
Whenever we stumble, we will reach out to you.
Whenever we are afraid, we will trust you.
Wherever we gather, we will worship you.
Whenever we hear your word, we will embrace you.
All our days, we will honour you.
In ones and twos and in tens and hundreds, we will praise you.
In Jesus’ name.
Amen.

A prayer of adoration

Eternal God,
through you all things are possible:
seas become dry land; darkness is lit up;
oppressors are overcome; the oppressed are saved;
fear becomes fortitude; death becomes life;
slaves are freed; despair blossoms into hope.
We praise you, God, our creator,
Jesus, our saviour and Holy Spirit, our comforter.
We praise you.
Amen.

A prayer of confession and an Assurance of forgiveness

A prayer of confession

Loving God, forgive us, we pray,
when we go against your wishes,
when we ignore your presence with us,
when we lead others into wrong ways,
when we pursue that which is reckless and bad for us.
Forgive us, and help us to trust
that your light is stronger than our darkness,
your creativity stronger than our destructiveness,
and your faithfulness stronger than our doubt.
Amen.

Assurance of forgiveness

God of power and presence,
your grace goes ahead of us,
drawing us away from the sins that drag us down.
Your forgiveness heals us from all that has drawn us
away from you and others.
Your love is in our midst, giving us courage, leading us on
and guiding us to your eternal kingdom.
Amen.

A prayer of praise

Blessed are you forever, God.
You are with us every step of the way:
raising us up, cheering us on, guiding us,
shaping us, teaching us and drawing us closer to you.
With the dawn chorus of the waking birds
and the sparkling of the evening stars,
we will always praise and worship you.
Ready to follow wherever you lead.
In Jesus’ name.
Amen.

Prayers of intercession

Almighty and all-knowing God, your world and all its people are in your hand. You alone see the big picture. You alone know your plans, plans to prosper and not to harm us. And yet it is hard not to to feel anxious and uncertain when we look around us and see so much need for prayer.

Yours is a path of generosity, grace and peace, but your children are led astray with greed, intolerance and violence. We ask your blessing on the peace-makers - those seeking to mediate between warring nations and factions and individuals. Encourage and strengthen them, giving them the right words to say. May your Holy Spirit infuse the hearts of those who wield power and influence, that they may prioritise justice, safety and wellbeing for all. May we use our votes prayerfully and our voices wisely, unafraid to speak truth to power.

Help us trust your love and your leading, as we journey on together.

God, who led your people to safety in treacherous times, we pray for those who are in danger at this time; those who make the news such as the victims of the floods in Nepal and China, the volcano in Indonesia or the collapsed building in Delhi, and those whose situation goes unnoticed by others. We pray for those who put their lives at risk to seek sanctuary in another country due to danger at home, not knowing what kind of welcome they will receive. Bless all who work to support those in danger and in need, and may our hearts be filled with compassion and understanding.

Help us trust your love and your leading, as we journey on together.

Creator and carer of all, you see the needs of each individual and long to lead them from all that holds them back from living life in all its fullness. We pray for those whose mental health is affected by their situation, those who are limited by anxiety or lack of understanding of how to navigate the circumstances they find themselves in. We bring before you all whose quality of life is marred by poverty, unemployment, homelessness, and lack of opportunity. We pray for those who are sick or who feel held back by weakness or impairment, and for those who mourn. May your love and comfort envelop them, your strength infuse them, your spirit encourage them. Strengthen and equip those who work amongst them and move us with compassion to help where we can, whether it be practically, emotionally or financially.

Help us trust your love and your leading, as we journey on together.

A prayer for all ages together

Help us, God,
to go with you, knowing you’re leading us:
out of bad choices and into good choices,
out of fighting and into peace,
out of hate and into love.
Help us to know you with us,
walking alongside us in all of life.
Amen.

A sending out prayer

Let us have courage,
as we know God before us.
Let us have faith,
as we know God beside us.
Let us have joy,
as we know God behind us.
Let us have love,
as we know God goes with us.
Amen.

Gweddïau ar gyfer Oedolion a Phob Oed  13-19 Medi 2026

Ewch gyda Duw

Exodus 14:19-31

Galwad i addoli
Ydych chi’n barod?
Mae’n amser mynd.
Mae’n amser mynd gyda Duw.
Rydym ni’n mynd ar daith.
Rydym ni’n mynd ar daith gyda Duw.
Awn gyda’n gilydd.
Awn gyda’n gilydd gyda Duw heddiw.

Gweddi ymgynnull
Dduw a greodd y byd,
rydym yn ymgynnull yma o lawer lle,
bydd yma gyda ni.
Dduw sy’n ein hachub,
down â’n hofnau a’n cwestiynau,
arwain ac amddiffyn ni.
Dduw sy’n uno, down fel pererinion i deithio gyda’n gilydd.
Gad i ni ddod i’th adnabod yma wrth i ni deithio gyda thi.
Amen.

Gweddi ddynesu
Dduw ein taith ffydd:
Ble bynnag y byddi di’n ein hanfon, byddwn yn mynd.
Ble bynnag y byddi di’n ein harwain, byddwn yn dilyn.
Pryd bynnag y byddwn yn baglu, byddwn yn ymestyn allan tuag atat ti.
Pryd bynnag y bydd arnom ofn, byddwn yn ymddiried ynot ti.
Ble bynnag y byddwn yn ymgynnull, byddwn yn dy addoli di.
Pryd bynnag y byddwn yn clywed dy air, byddwn yn dy groesawu di.
Ar hyd ein dyddiau, byddwn yn dy anrhydeddu di.
Yn un ac yn ddau ac yn ddegau ac yn gannoedd, byddwn yn dy addoli di.
Yn enw Iesu.
Amen.

Gweddi o addoliad
Dduw tragwyddol,
trwot ti mae popeth yn bosibl:
moroedd yn troi’n dir sych; tywyllwch yn cael ei oleuo;
gormeswyr yn cael eu trechu; y gorthrymedig yn cael eu hachub;
ofn yn troi’n ddewrder; marwolaeth yn troi’n fywyd;
y caeth yn rhydd; anobaith yn blodeuo yn obaith.
Molwn di, Dduw, ein creawdwr,
Iesu, ein gwaredwr a’r Ysbryd Glân, ein diddanydd.
Molwn di.
Amen.

Gweddi o gyffes
Dduw cariadlon, gweddïwn ar i ti faddau i ni
pan fyddwn yn mynd yn groes i’th ewyllys,
pan fyddwn yn anwybyddu dy bresenoldeb gyda ni,
pan fyddwn yn arwain eraill ar ddisberod,
pan fyddwn yn dilyn yr hyn sy’n anghyfrifol ac yn ddrwg i ni.
Maddau i ni, a helpa ni i ymddiried
bod dy oleuni di yn gryfach na’n tywyllwch ni,
dy greadigrwydd di yn gryfach na’n distrywgarwch ni,
a’th ffyddlondeb di yn gryfach na’n hamheuaeth ni.
Amen.

Sicrwydd maddeuant
Dduw nerth a phresenoldeb,
mae dy ras o’n blaen,
yn ein tynnu ymaith oddi wrth y pechodau sy’n ein llorio.
Mae dy faddeuant yn ein hiacháu o bopeth sydd wedi’n
tynnu i ffwrdd oddi wrthyt ti ac eraill.
Mae dy gariad yn ein canol, yn ein gwneud yn ddewr,
yn ein harwain a’n tywys i’th deyrnas dragwyddol.
Amen.

Gweddi o fawl
Bendigedig wyt am byth, Dduw.
Rwyt ti gyda ni bob cam o’r daith:
yn ein codi i fyny, yn ein calonogi, yn ein harwain,
ein ffurfio, ein dysgu a’n tynnu’n nes atat ti.
Gyda chôr y wig ar doriad gwawr
a disgleirdeb sêr y nos,
fe’th folwn a’th addolwn di bob amser.
Yn barod i ddilyn i ble bynnag y byddi di’n arwain.
Yn enw Iesu.
Amen.

Gweddi ar gyfer pob oed gyda’i gilydd
Helpa ni, Dduw,
i fynd gyda thi, gan wybod dy fod yn ein harwain:
o ddewisiadau gwael i ddewisiadau da,
o ymladd i heddwch,
o gasineb i gariad.
Helpa ni i wybod dy fod di gyda ni,
yn cerdded wrth ein hochr ar hyd ein bywyd.
Amen.

Gweddi i gloi
Byddwn yn ddewr,
wrth i ni adnabod Duw o’n blaen.
Byddwn yn llawn ffydd,
wrth i ni adnabod Duw wrth ein hochr.
Byddwn yn llawen,
wrth i ni adnabod Duw y tu ôl i ni.
Byddwn yn llawn cariad,
wrth i ni wybod bod Duw gyda ni.
Amen.

Children & Youth

A gathering prayer for children

Open our hearts and minds to understand what you want
to teach us today, O God.
Amen.

A prayer of praise and thanksgiving for children

Set up a clapping rhythm of ‘clap clap (pause for word)’ and invite everyone to call out words to praise God (such as ‘mighty’,  ‘awesome’, ‘powerful’, etc) in the pause. It does not matter if two people speak at the same time. This is meant to be joyous.

A prayer for forgiveness for children

Have a clear glass of water and a soluble, clear/white, vitamin C tablet. Invite everyone to think of something they would like to say sorry for. Remind them that God washes away our sins when we ask for forgiveness. Then add the tablet to the water and watch it dissolve.

A prayer for others for children

Use the same clapping rhythm as used for A prayer of praise and thanksgiving, only this time invite everyone to call out people, places or situations they want to pray for.

A leaving prayer for children

May the angels of God protect us this week,
just as they kept the people of Israel safe
when they crossed the sea.
Amen.

A prayer for very young children: Walking prayer

Give everyone a ball of blue play dough flattened out.
Ask them to walk their fingers across as you pray:

Thank you, God,
that you are with us wherever we go.
Amen.

Gweddïau ar gyfer Plant ac Ieuenctid 13-19 Medi 2026

Ewch gyda Duw

Exodus 14:19-31

Gweddi ymgynnull
Agor ein calonnau a’n meddyliau i ddeall beth yr wyt ti
eisiau ei ddysgu i ni heddiw, O Dduw.
Amen.

Gweddi gerdded
Rhowch belen o glai (play dough) glas wedi ei wastatáu i bawb. Gofynnwch iddynt gerdded eu bysedd drosto wrth i chi weddïo:

Diolch i ti, Dduw,
dy fod di gyda ni ble bynnag yr awn.
Amen.

Gweddi o fawl a diolchgarwch
Sefydlwch rhythm o ‘clap clap (saib ar gyfer gair)’ a gwahoddwch bawb i alw allan eiriau i foli Duw (fel ‘nerthol’, ‘rhyfeddol’, ‘cryf’, ayb) yn y saib. Does dim gwahaniaeth os bydd dau o bobl yn siarad yr un pryd. Mae hyn i fod yn orfoleddus.

Gweddi am faddeuant
Darparwch wydraid clir o ddŵr a thabled fitamin C glir/gwyn doddadwy. Gwahoddwch bawb i feddwl am rywbeth y maent eisiau dweud bod yn ddrwg ganddynt amdano. Atgoffwch hwy fod Duw yn golchi ymaith ein pechodau pan fyddwn yn gofyn am faddeuant. Yna rhowch y dabled yn y dŵr a’i gwylio yn toddi.

Gweddi dros eraill
Defnyddiwch yr un rhythm clapio ag a ddefnyddiwyd ar gyfer Gweddi o fawl a diolchgarwch, ond y tro hwn gwahoddwch bawb i alw allan enwau pobl, lleoedd neu sefyllfaoedd y mae arnynt eisiau gweddïo drostynt.

Gweddi i gloi
Boed i angylion Duw ofalu amdanom yr wythnos hon,
yn union fel y bu iddynt gadw pobl Israel yn ddiogel
pan oeddent yn croesi’r môr.
Amen.
