Go with God

Adult & All Age

Go with God

Consider together what you have explored, what that means for you and how you will live your faith this week

All age act of worship Session
  • Either using your ‘Parting the Red Sea’ card or by giving everyone a piece of blue paper or material to represent the sea, invite people to pray with a neighbour about a barrier they, or someone they know, face. Holding the card or blue paper/material, ask God to ‘hold back the waters’ to make a way in our lives and that we would have faith to go with God.

Go with God  A

Go on a prayer walk around your neighbourhood and notice where there are barriers people face. These might be clear physical barriers, such as raised pavements that restrict wheelchair use, or less overt barriers, such as access to GP appointments or children who struggle to attend school due to anxiety. Pray for God to open the way for those facing these barriers.

Children & Youth

Go with God

Consider together what you have explored, what that means for each of you and how it might influence your daily lives. (10 mins)

CHILDREN

Childrens Session
  • Ask the children what a visible sign of God being with you in the group would be, e.g. a cross, a lit candle, a Bible. Find, draw or display on a screen what they choose and talk together about how God is always present, but how helpful it is when we have something we can see.

Go with God challenge E S

Carry a visible sign of God’s presence with you this week, e.g. a cross, as a reminder that wherever you go, you go with God.

Very young childrens Session

Sing

To the tune: Go Jetters chorus

Go, go! Go, go! Go Moses!
Go, go! Go, go! Through the Red Sea, yeah!
Go, go! Go, go! Go Moses!
Go! With God, go!
Go, go, go!

YOUNG PEOPLE

Young people Session
  • Challenge the young people to do as many star jumps (or other task) or see how much of the Bible passage they can memorise, in one minute. Ask: How easy was it? Training for a sport event or learning lines isn’t always easy. But if you are an athlete or an actor, choosing to do something difficult is important if you want to succeed.
  • So it is for us as Christians. We can all experience freedom as part of God’s family, but we have to participate in that rescue. Ask the young people to think about difficult situations in their lives. What difficult decisions/actions are we being called to make so that God can lead us through?
  • Play ‘O lead me to the mountain’, Joyful Noise on Our Everlasting Hope to finish.

Go with God challenge W E A
