Information about the printing and packaging materials used for ROOTS magazines.
From the January 2020 issue onwards, ROOTS magazines will be delivered in 100% COMPOSTABLE wrapping made from potato starch. Please dispose of this film in one of the following ways:
- Add to your home compost heap.
- Discard into your garden waste bin.
- Use to line your food waste caddy (providing there are no holes!)
- Put in your general waste if the options above are not available.
Please do not put it in the plastic recycling.

ROOTS magazines are printed on woodfree stock using vegetable-based inks on FSC®-certified paper from responsible sources.
Our printers, Bishops, have the following certificates:
The potato starch wrapping is compostable. The packaging board is 100% recyclable, 100% biodegradable and made from 90% recycled or recovered paper.
