Go with God

Adult & All Age

Go with God

Consider together what you have explored, what that means for you and how you will live your faith this week

All age act of worship Session
  • Invite people to share their discoveries with a neighbour:
What treasure or pearl have they uncovered?
What have they learnt about waiting, seeing or trusting?
  • You could also invite them, if they wish, to turn this into one final leaf for the mustard/prayer tree.

Go with God 24/7

Encourage everyone to put their faith into action

Try to plant little seeds of love among your family, friends and neighbours – small gestures or acts of kindness, or similar. Wait, trust and see what grows out of these actions of kindness.

Children & Youth

Go with God

Consider together what you have explored, what that means for each of you and how it might influence your daily lives. (10 mins)

Activities marked with an asterisk  next to the activity title are in addition to the resources in the Ready to go sessions. Suggested timings for these activities are also shown. NB The inclusion of additional activities varies from week to week.

FOR CHILDREN

Childrens Session
  • Provide plant pots, seeds and compost for the children to plant a seed to nurture at home. Talk about what they will need to do to care for the plant. Suggest that, as they tend to the plant, they could think about where they are noticing God’s kingdom growing around them.

Go with God 24/7

Encourage the children to put their faith into action

This week, when you find yourself having to wait in line, see if you can spend a moment praying ‘your kingdom come,’ from the Lord’s Prayer.

Sing

To the tune: Jesus’ hands were kind hands,
doing good to all

Jesus tells us stories, guiding us to live.
Parables are stories, teaching us to give.
Help me be like Jesus, till I’m loving too.
Jesus tell us stories, till I’m kind like you.

FOR YOUNG PEOPLE

Young people Session
  • Ask: When will it be difficult to trust God in the coming days/weeks? When might you need to ask for God’s help? Give everyone a calendar for August (template) and a glue stick, to stick radish seeds on significant dates.
  • Sometimes we want God to step in and make a situation better right away, waiting is difficult. Can they see growth in their seeds yet? Once a seed gets wet, the chemistry inside starts to work and it will have begun to change. We just can’t see it yet.

Go with God 24/7

Every day add a little water to your tube with seeds in compost. Say your acrostic prayer sentences to help you think about trusting God more.
