A prayer of confession

Forgive us, Lord, when we are slow to see

opportunities for change in our lives

and in the lives of others.

May we never turn away those you would welcome,

or turn aside from your welcome for us;

but grow in faith and trust and generosity

and walk more closely towards Jesus,

our friend and our guide.
