Journey of a Lifetime

Picture this: parents and carers bring their children to your holiday club, but they don't all drop off - some of the parents stay. Grandparents arrive with grandchildren who are visiting. Some of your seniors group join in too. All ages are gathered - enjoying time together, exploring faith and learning from each other.

Using the 12 core spiritual practices of the Methodist Way of Life, all ages will discover how we can go on the Journey of a Lifetime with Jesus.

A fun, intergenerational holiday club

The three sessions within this resource pack focus on encounters with Jesus:
1. Encountering Jesus together – friends bring the paralysed man to Jesus (Luke 5:17-26)
2. Choosing Jesus – Jesus visits Mary and Martha (Luke 10:38-42)
3. Changing lives – Zacchaeus climbs a tree to see Jesus (Luke 19:1-10)

Based around the Methodist Way of Life

  • We'd like to thank The Methodist Church for partnering with us to develop this resource, and for sharing the Methodist Way of Life imagery with us.
  • The club uses each of the 12 core spiritual practices as a station on our discipleship journey where we can meet God and grow in our faith.
  • Each time we visit a station, we are encouraged to try a simple spiritual practice that leads us to encounter Jesus.
  • We are encouraged to journey with others as we learn these healthy spiritual habits, reflecting on what we discover along the way.
