| For
all churches |
ROOTS is a joint Churches initiative, and is supported by
Churches Together in
Britain and Ireland along with representatives
from the Churches and church publishers throughout the UK and Ireland.
|
| Supporting The Revised Common Lectionary |
|
The ROOTS programme follows The
Revised Common Lectionary (RCL), a series of readings used
across all the main Church denominations. ROOTS provides
lectionary-linked dated material for adult worship, children's and
young people's groups, and services where all ages worship together.
A pick'n'mix approach to the ideas presented for each Sunday ensures
that the programme is flexible enough to work within different traditions
and local circumstances. Churches that do not follow the lectionary
will also find aspects of ROOTS useful to their work.
Special note for users of the Church of England Common Worship
lectionary
There are times when the Church of England Common
Worship lectionary diverges from the RCL and uses different
Bible readings. On these occasions, we provide full material
on the web site to support these readings.
