In the weekly ROOTS resources there is a cohesive theme or direction, called the common thread. This unites the materials across the age range and over both the ROOTS magazines, so that everyone will have the opportunity to explore the same biblical focus.
Each week the Adult & All Age magazine offers:

gathering words
prayers and ideas for a focal point
a selection of prayers
jumping off points for sermon preparation
ideas for opening, exploring and responding to the Word when all ages worship together.

drama sketches for mixed age groups which explore some of the core themes of the issue
a downloadable Children's Sheet with activities for parents and children
selected magazine material to print or adapt.
Seasonal material
In addition to the weekly materials, the magazine offers:
a seasonal or festival service for all ages
a theological reflection for the season
seasonal prayers.
There is also advice on designing and developing acts of worship.
On the website you will find a second seasonal and festival service for all ages together. 
Planning
To assist planning, there is a listing of lectionary readings and the focus for each week for the next six months.
